The Objectives 1. Develop the company and improve its performance. 2. Generate electricity and provide it to the electrical network without interruption. 3. Rationalize the fuel consumption and the preserve the environment. 4. Encourage the local manufacturing of electrical equipment and ensure quality by using modern technology. 5. Emphasize on training the employees through training courses , seminars and conferences to improve their efficiency and increase their expertise. 6. Perform the works and develops it by using the state of the art of information technology. 7. Follow-up the technical performance of the generation units and and develop it. 8. (1) El kurimat Complex Energy production ( 2754 Mega Watt )
The Complex consists of : - El kurimat power plant ( 1 ) [ 2×627 Mega Watt ] - El kurimat power plant ( 2 ) [ 1×750 Mega Watt ] - El kurimat power plant ( 3 ) [ 1×750 Mega Watt ]
El kurimat Energy production Complex: Upper Egypt Production Company are owns El-kurimat power station (1) [ 1254 MW ] and established El-kurimat power station (2) and El-kurimat power station (3), each one is generating 750 Mega Watts, by this the total energy of the El Kuraymat complex are 2754 MW Which makes it the largest power-generating complex in a single site in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.
El kurimat power plant ( 1 ) :
El kuraymat steam power plant is adopting a high level of technology which ensure high efficiency of operation and increase the reliability .It is also characterized by low operation economies which is achieved by savings in fuel consumption. Its units are the largest units in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Middle East , where the power of each unit is 627 mega watts. The power plant contains two units With total power generating of 1254 Mega Watts . The commercial run of unit one is November 1997, and unit two is August 1998. El kurimat power plant ( 2 ) :
- The generation units of El-Kuraymat (2) is combined cycle system , generating total power of 750 Mega Watts and it consist of: · Two gas turbines , each one has power generation capacity of 250 Mega Watts and total power capacity of 500 Mega Watts, It is manufactured by Siemens Co of Germany. · Two heat recovery steam generators to provide steam for steam turbine by using the exhaust of the gas turbines. It is produced by (Skoda - CMI) Co. of Belgium. · One steam turbine 250 Mega Watts Produced by Hitachi Co of Japan. · Auxiliaries for the project such as Water Treatment Units , switch gear 220 K V and emission monitoring devices to preserve the environment. - The commercial operation for gas units was in January 2007 , adding 500 Mega Watts to the power grid of Egypt . - The beginning experiments for starting up the steam unit in July 2008 and entered to the commercial service after that to add another 250 mega watts to the power grid. - The project was completed and inaugurated in October 2008. The project costs about 2.1 billion LE . It was erected by multi-packages system to get the best prices and terms.
El kurimat power plant ( 3) :
- The generation units of El-Kuraymat (3) are combined cycle system , with total generating power of 750 Mega Watts and consist of: · Two gas turbines each one has power generation of 250 Mega Watts, It is manufactured by General Electric of USA . · One steam turbine has power generation off 250 Mega Watts, It is produced by Alstom company of France. · Two heat recovery steam generator. · Some auxiliaries for the project such as switch gear 220 K V and emission monitoring devices to preserve the environment. - The project cost is about 2.1 billion LE .The power plant was erected by multi-packages system to get the best price and terms.
(2) The production plants in Assiut
The location of Elweledya is chosen at a distance of three Km north of Assiut city , on the west bank of the River Nile. The power plant was an implementation of the policy of the state to provide the electric energy for agricultural , tourism and industrial development projects in Upper Egypt. The power plant consists of two units each one has power generation of 312 mega watts and fueled by the mazzout with the possibility of using natural gas as a secondary alternative fuel .The placing of the units has been designed to allow the addition of a third unit of another 312 Mega Watts in the future. The unit one of Elwaledya steam power plant: Its power generation capacity is 312 Mega watts and commissioned in 12/3/1992 The second unit of Elwaledya steam power plant: Its power generation capacity is 312 Mega watts and commissioned in 21/2/1997

The company , in conjunction with the Egyptian Electricity Holding co , is studying the establishment of two new electricity power plants as follows : a. South of Helwan steam power station (2×650 Mega watts) and the expected total cost is about (2.9) billion Egyptian pounds and (1.2) billion U.S. dollars. It is located in south of Elkurimat (1,2,3) plants and the presidential decree for assigning the needed area was issued. b. El-Marashda power plant in Qena governorate , and the presidential decree for assigning the needed area is being issued. It worth mentioning that the Higher goal of the company is to reach the international standards in the field of economics of power generation. The company pays attention to the development of the management techniques and the human resources , and plan its operations, maintenance and overhaul . The expansion of local manufacturing base , the optimal use of the domestic available materials will achieve the maximum economic return . The company stresses on the requirements to preserve the environment and maintain the amount of emissions and industrial wastewater within the limits of international standard and Egyptian law.
