Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company believes in the importance of the role of the information technology . This role facilitate the workflow , increase the efficiency and enhance the performance speed and flexibility .The company established its information network and provided it with the necessary hardware and qualified technical staff to achieve the goals of modern information systems.

The information network of Upper Egypt Electricity Production company covers three major geographical areas, which are (El Giza –El kurimat –Assiut ). and each area consists of a number of separate locations.

Every location contains local area network (LAN) which have been installed, operated and maintained by UEEPC IT staff. These LANs provide the Internet service to the clients in addition to the standard computer communication services.

2- Assist the company sectors ,units and the decision-makers in a various technical and organizational activities ,to maximize the benefits from the information technology.

3- Provide and integrate the systems and mechanisms to expand the production and exchange of information to enhance the performance of company.

4- Expand the electronic services within the company and taking the views of employees through e-opinion surveys to gain easy access to the decision-makers within the company.

5- Provide statistics, graphs and summary results of the polls for the senior management in the company and also draw the necessary attentions for the research and studies that will increase production and rationalize consumption within the company.

6- Create a technical database for the personnel and update it periodically to identify the skills , competencies , training needs , refine the experience and restructuring according to the principles and right rules.

7- Provide the required information for decision makers at any time any place through communication networks between different sites of the company.

From the above overview, the company has done its best to create integrated information and decision support center, and provide it with the required sophisticated hardware, and assign special elites of the necessary staff to attain the center activities and objectives and make it able to perform its role within the IT system of the Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company .This center is the major source of the company data as well as the research and development studies to complete the automation objectives and covers all the development requirement within the company.

1- Provide the periodic data (technical - financial - commercial - managerial) into the comprehensive database software of the company which is directly linked to the Egyptian electricity holding company of Egypt.

2- Co-operate with the IT sector in the Egyptian electricity holding company of Egypt in developing the comprehensive software and debug errors.

3- Provide monthly data (changes of employment - the reports of technical performance) to its specific programs through the ministry of Electricity web site .

4- Send monthly reports about the behavior of the generating units , the performance quarterly reports through the e-mail to the Egyptian Electricity holding Company.

5- The IT and decision support center is designing some software to achieve direct and rapid support to the decision-makers within the company .
