were founded in: 1/7/2001 Capital of the Company: The company's capital was 3638,530 L.E ( Three million, six hundred and thirty-eight thousand (at the time of incorporation) and five hundred and thirty shares) value of each share is 100 pounds (one hundred pounds), and all shares are fully paid and owned by the Egyptian Electricity Holding company. The purpose of the establishment of the company is :- 1- Generate electricity from the thermal power plants. 2- Manage, operate and maintain its the thermal power plants, and perform necessary overhaul and rehabilitation and renewal needed for its stations . 3- Sell the generated electricity to the Egyptian electricity transmission company and to the electricity distribution companies . 4- Implement the projects ,according to the timetables specified , that pertain the production of electricity power from the thermal stations .These projects should be approved by the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Electricity Holding company,. 5- Perform the studies and research concerning the activities of the company. 6- Perform any other activities which are related or complementary to the purpose of the company. 7- Perform what the others entrusted to the company from acts of interference in their activities so as to achieve an economic return for the company. The company own and operate the following thermal power plant: 1- Assiut steam power plant ( 3 * 30 Mega Watt ) . 2- Assiut Elweledya steam power plant ( 3 * 312 Mega Watt ) . 3- El kurimat Complex ( 2754 Mega Watt ) . The geographical jurisdiction of Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company is the following governerate ( Helwan " Except the area Greater Cairo"- El fayoum- Bany Swief- Assiut- Elwady Algeded- Sohag- Kena- Aswan ).
The company's power plants are in three sites ( El Kurimat 1,2,3 power plants – El Waledya power plant – Assiut steam power plant ).These power plants greatly contribute in the development of the local community by providing large number of jobs for the locals which led to high development in the standard of living in the area . It is excepected to provide another number of job opportunities on the new company's projects. These job opportunities will contribute to solving the unemployment problem in line with the policy of the State and the directives of the President and his election program The company believes that the good quality of production and improvement of the performance are closely linked to the efficiency and competence of the employee,In this sense, the company has spared no effort and is doing its best to raise the skill level and train its human resources inside and outside Egypt.The company also organizes and provides cultural, social and recreational activities for its human resources Also the company built three residential cities for workers in the three power plant sites ( El-kurimat and Assiut ) The company is keen to provide many social services , there is a sport club and green playground that are utilized by workers and their families. Also there is big gathering halls in the social club which are used by workers and their families to celebrate the happy occasions , and there is also another halls attached to the mosque of the residential city, The company also provide a cooperative outlet , bakery and nursery in each residential area.
